The SALTT Spirit
Exactly a week ago, the whole Singles Ministry went to Ateneo for an afternoon of fun and surprises. Get this, there were 50 of us. I’ve been told that the largest crowd they ever had was around 20. This year, the Singles Ministry is revving it up – in a big way – and all for the glory of the Lord.
We arrived in Ateneo at around 2pm but didn’t start immediately since the whole field was occupied by three different groups. When we transferred to a different field, it was about an hour later. And then the fun, the laughter, the praise started.
It was an exciting-filled afternoon.
We learned a lot from the games. We learned to pull each other up when we are down (hands-over-the-shoulder game), expect the unexpected but don’t feel stressed out (the ball-toss game), find your niche in ministries (the five-stations game), the fastest isn’t exactly the winner (the running game), the leader should lead his group (the hulahoop game), help each other out when needed (the ballon game).
It was already past six when we were done, but the night was still young so we all headed out to Aveneto’s for dinner. The room was filled with noisy and chattering individuals and we couldn’t tell which ones were talking and which ones were listening.
Everyone was still getting a hangover from the game.
It was really a team building. We are God’s army.
